Argon is tasteless, nontoxic, colorless and odorless. It forms no known chemical compound and is very inert. Argon is one of the rare gases of the atmosphere and is slightly soluble in water.  Although Argon is nontoxic, it still can function as an asphyxiant by displacing oxygen in the atmosphere.
